Developing LeadershipDeveloping leadership is not about helping you to develop against a predefined framework of skills and competencies designed to describe the perfect leader that you 'ought' to be. It is about helping you to work out what you can do to make a real difference to the quality of leadership at work. This is because Leadership is not just a set of personal skills to be developed, it is a complex social process in which you can only ever play a part. Leadership is a property that emerges from groups of people who have to work together in a shared context. The challenge that faces most of us today is to work out what we can contribute to this 'social process of leadership' that will make a real difference. Looking at leadership in this way frees you from the tyranny of the many leadership frameworks and helps you to realise how you can become the best leader that you can be. It is not about you being the perfect leader, it is about you providing the leadership that your organisation needs. I train people to become better leaders both in-company and on open courses. |
